TV and movies

Here are some of the movies and TV shows Windows Fundamental is enjoying this calendar week.

The Mail

Recommended by Dan Thorp-Lancaster, staff author

I skipped The Post in theaters, but it'due south something I've been looking forrad to seeing for a while.

Starring Tom Hanks, Meryl Streep, Bob Odenkirk, and countless other stars, The Mail service tells the story of The Washington Mail and its fight to publish what became known equally the Pentagon Papers, documents that exposed the lengths the government went to in social club to deceive the public well-nigh the Vietnam War. That makes for swell drama textile, but information technology also documents a pivotal moment in the fight to maintain ane of the near important American tenets: freedom of the press.

The M Budapest Hotel

Recommended by Cale Hunt, staff writer

The aesthetic of Wes Anderson's movies is always pleasing, and when coupled with great actors and a great script, y'all get something special. This wasn't my first time seeing The Grand Budapest Hotel, simply enough years had passed that I forgot most of the plot.

This is the tale of a fictional Eastern-European land on the brink of war, the concierge of the Grand Budapest Hotel, and the anteroom boy who becomes embroiled in art theft, murder, and love.

Zanaka ― Jain

Zanaka ― Jain

Recommended by Cale Chase, staff writer

Jeanne Galice, a French vocalizer-songwriter who goes by the proper noun Jain, released Zanaka in 2022, but I but came across her music by adventure terminal week. The electro-pop vibes are perfect every bit the conditions exterior warms and I've been able to open windows for fresh air one time again. Information technology's upbeat and information technology'south catchy ― what more could I ask for?

Books

Here are the books we're reading this week!

The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao ― Junot Diaz

The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao ― Junot Diaz

Recommended by Cale Hunt, staff author

I didn't actually read this book this calendar week, but it's had a spot on my shelf for a long time. Information technology won plenty of awards, including the Pulitzer Prize, and, in my opinion, for good reason. Oscar Wao is a young man who'southward pretty much the epitome of "nerd" and who dreams of one day condign a famous fantasy writer. The problem? His Dominican family unit is cursed. The story is a expect at Dominican-American culture, a expect at what it's like to be unpopular, and what it means to be in beloved.
